For this submission, I experimented with long exposure shots. Using the Live Photo mode, I held my phone still and changed it to long exposure afterward.
The Guggenheim Museum
It was really crowded on the day I went, so using long exposure worked out in my favor because the people moving around create a blurred effect and gave the still subjects more emphasis.

The Met
The weather was nice on the night I went to the Met and there were a lot of people sitting on the steps. I thought the people getting up and moving around would make for a cool shot.
(across from) The Brooklyn Museum
I like the architecture of the houses across from the Brooklyn Museum but the cars driving by were distracting. I used long exposure so there is a blur of traffic instead of individual cars.

This was taken at a train station in Queens where the trains go above ground. I liked how the sky looked but there was a train passing by from the other side. My train was arriving from behind so I didn’t have much time to get a steady shot. I think the straight lines that are created using long exposure, along with the roof of the station, guide the eye toward the sunset.
